What to expect at the clinic
There are many factors which can affect what you will see during
your early reassurance scan. Your cycle length is key. You will be asked to input your LMP when booking. Providing you have a regular 28-day cycle and your LMP is 6 weeks ago, we would expect to see a 6 week embryo with a heartbeat.
A shorter cycle may mean that you’re further on in your pregnancy than you expect! If your cycle is irregular or longer than the 28 days, this could mean that you are less than 6 weeks. If this is the case, you may see a 5 – 6 week pregnancy with just a yolk sac present, which is completely normal for that gestation.
Our sonographers will have a conversation with you before your scan to gain a better understanding of your cycle length and to relay any important information. It’s important to consider the factors above when booking your scan.
Rescans
If we are unable to obtain clear 4D / 3D images, we may offer you one free rescan at a later date*. Rescans will not be offered after 32 weeks of pregnancy and therefore we recommend that you plan your 4D scan before 30 weeks wherever possible so that we can accommodate a rescan if required.

COVID-19 – Mask wearing is no longer mandatory, however they remain a recommendation for those who are at high risk of infection. We support the decision of any customer or member of staff who chooses to continue to wear a mask, for health reasons or otherwise.
